It all started as a game-instead of talking to each other you sing to each other. This leads to a Pipkins play-with singing instead of talking... Uncle Hare takes Mrs P into town and finds he likes his own hollow much better. But Mrs P likes one place they visit….where they keep fish on ice! Hartley is excited because the postman’s brought him a parcel from his uncle. Topov, on the other hand is sad because he’s being punished for being a naughty monkey. To cap it all, the roof is leaking again. Treats are so good it seems a pity you can't have them all the time. But would it be such fun if you had a birthday every day?Uncle Hare comes up from the country and discovers a public library: a place where they lend you books-even picture books for Topov who can’t read… Hartley and his friends want some photographs of their picnic. But as the pictures must be brilliant, there is only one person who can take them..... The show’s cast of puppets was diverse and memorable. Hartley Hare, the somewhat threadbare puppet, acted as the leader and thinker of the group, often engaging in witty banter and humour. With his unforgettable personality, Hartley became a fan favourite. Hartley has become a secret sweet eater. He has secret hiding places in every room and eats sweets all the time, but nobody can catch him at it….. Mr Pipkin, Johnny, Hartley Tortoise and even naughty Topov are all going away to the seaside for a holiday.
