Arnold ends up finding the treasure after walking through the night. The series tells the story of Charlie Chalk – a jolly clown who, after falling asleep whilst fishing out at sea, ends up on a strange island by the name of Merrytwit (as explained in the title sequence before each episode). Characters had to be aware of coconuts which constantly fell from the trees on the island. Charlie Chalk (1988) - The Complete Collection : Woodland

Merchandise for the programme was, and is, very minimal. The merchandise listed are the only items that have been discovered. Here are the credits to the episodes of the three Woodland Animations Programmes that are featured on this Children's BBC Compilation Video. Charlie Chalk – The Complete Series features all 13 episodes and is currently available in the UK on a single DVD release. It was made by Entertainment Rights plc and distributed by Universal Pictures in 2005. Bertha was created by Woodland Animations, who also produced the shows Postman Pat, Charlie Chalk and Gran for the BBC. Episodes were written by Eric Charles and Stephen Flewers, and designed, produced and directed by Ivor Wood, co-founder of the Woodland company. Roy Kinnear and Sheila Walker voiced the characters, and Kinnear narrated. The main title music (as well as some of the other songs) featured the singing of Guy Fletcher. The songs "Tracy's Robot Song", "Mrs Tupp" and "Isn't it Nice?" from the Bertha 12-inch vinyl record feature the vocals of Stephanie de Sykes. In 2011, Classic Media released a DVD entitled Fun with Friends: Volume One containing one episode of Bertha. Mary the Hover Fairy: An old fairy who often proves useful due to her ability to cast spells, provided her magic wand, Houdini, has not wandered off again. She is getting old, so has decided to settle down on Merrytwit. She now lives on Buttercup, serving as Mildred's first mate. Trader Jones: Trader is the island's odd job man. Not only does he drive a bike which acts as a taxi and a means of transporting goods, he also owns a general supplies store on the island: 'if you want it, he's got it.' He never accepts money, he only trades e.g. a supply of bananas may cost a day's beachcombing. Ted Turner – Chief machine operator (who shows a number of influences of the late veteran TV presenter Bruce Forsyth)
